WHERE IS DARK SKIES LIGHTING REQUIRED?
All new exterior lighting installed in the Sisters city limits after February 10, 2024 is required to comply with the new Dark Skies Standards (Chapter 2.15.2400). Lighting that existed prior to February 10, 2024 that is not in conformance with the new ordinance can contnue to be used but will need to be replaced with compliant lightng fixtures by February 2029.

WHAT IS A LIGHTING PLAN?
- A lighting plan is required for all applications for a Site Plan Review and/or building permits and includes the location, type, height, color temperature, lumen output and amount of all proposed and existing light fixtures, along with light fixture cut sheets from the manufacturer.
