There are a number of projects affecting our streets. While they will each improve our lives in the long term, please take care in construction zones.

Adams Avenue Streetscape Project. The Adams Avenue Streetscape Project encompasses an area located within the Downtown Commercial District along the Adams Avenue 80’ wide right-of-way from Cedar Street to Pine Street as well as sections of the side streets and alleys between Main and Adams Avenue. This corridor would share existing design elements of improved right-of-way within the downtown core with a focus on multi-modal design and connectivity, business/residential access, and landscaping.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Expect intermittent disruptions along Adams Avenue throughout the spring and summer.

ODOT's ADA Curb Ramps Project. This project will improve accessibility by correcting non-ADA compliant curb ramps and signalized intersections on US20 at West Rail Way, West Barclay Drive, and along Cascade Avenue from Pine Street to Larch Street.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: There will be ODOT crews working in the area from Spring 2026 - Fall 2026. Most work will take place at night between 8 pm and 7 am Sunday - Friday. Expect sidewalk, shoulder, and lane closures, flaggers will help direct traffic as needed.

Westside Pump Station and Force Main Project. Due to the collection system growth on the west side of the city, a new regional pump station is needed to divert the west side flows away from the Rope Street station. The project includes a complete triplex station, back-up generator, and a new 4500’ pressure main. The new pump station will decrease operation and maintenance costs, decrease the difficulty with pump maintenance, and improve reliability by the use of smaller pump sizes associated with a triplex system. This project will provide additional capacity and eliminate the need to enlarge the Rope Street station.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Intermittent disruptions on Jefferson Avenue and Pine Street. Construction is occurring in small increments to minimize impacts to traffic and residents. Detour signs will direct traffic around those blocks as they close.
