City Parks Advisory Board

The City Parks Advisory Board (CPAB) serves in an advisory role on matters relating to public parks. The Board consists of seven members of which two can live outside of the City limits, but within the Sisters School District boundary. The CPAB meets the first Wednesday of every other month at 4:00 p.m.

General functions and specific responsibilities of the City Parks Advisory Board are as follows:

  • To provide input and recommendations that will allow the City to produce and maintain safe, high quality parks, trails, open space areas and recreational opportunities;
  • To provide input and recommendations to implement the City’s Parks Master Plan;
  • To provide input and recommendations on the development and maintenance of parks, trails and open space areas;
  • To inform City Council on the progress or problems associated with City parks, trails and open space areas;
  • To aid in coordinating outdoor recreation with the programs of other govern­mental agencies and voluntary organizations and coordinate volunteer park projects;
  • To interpret the importance and need of recreation to the community and receive input concerning outdoor recreation activities;
