About Us:

Sisters is nestled at the base of the majestic Three Sisters and is named for these distinct volcanic peaks in the central Cascades Range. First settled as the Camp Polk military outpost in the mid-1800s, the town of Sisters was built on a foundation of ranching, farming, logging, and accommodating travelers crossing over the Cascades. The city was incorporated in 1946. For more about Sisters’ history, click here.

Construction Updates

Hood Avenue and Fir Street Waterline Project

Work begins on the Hood Avenue / Fir Street Waterline Improvement Project

Hood Avenue and Fir Street Waterline Improvement Project

The City recently awarded a waterline improvement project contract to JAL Construction, Inc. This project is part of the City of Sisters Water System Capital Improvement Plan. The new upsized water mainlines will replace smaller lines that were installed in the 1960’s and 70’s which have reached their anticipated life expectancy. The larger mainlines will allow the City to provide better water quality, increased fire flows and a higher level of service.

Work began on Monday, May 6th, 2013 with a majority of work scheduled to take place Monday through Thursday from 7 PM – 7 AM. Work will be done on Hood Avenue between Elm and Larch Street for the next two weeks, before moving to Fir Street. The scheduled project completion date is June 30, 2013.

Construction black-out dates include Memorial Day and Rodeo weekend (Friday,Saturday and Sunday).
