How to Get Involved

Boards, Commissions and Committees

The City has a number of opportunities which allow citizens to fill an integral role in City government by advising the City Council on important issues.

If you are interested in servicing on a Board, Committee or Commission, please complete an application form and return it to Kerry Prosser, City Recorder at City Hall, 520 E. Cascade or mail to P.O. Box 39, Sisters, OR  97759.

Budget Committee

The Budget Committee consists of the five City Councilors and five citizens at large. The citizens are appointed by Council and serve three year terms.

The Budget Committee meets each spring to review the budget proposed by the City Manager.  Committee meetings are public meetings and opportunity for public input is available.  City staff present financial overviews and highlight changes in programs and costs.  The Budget Committee may make changes to the proposed budget.  The proposed budget amended by the committee is approved and referred to City Council for adoption.

If you are interested in serving on the Budget Committee, please send your Advisory Committee application to Kerry Prosser, City Recorder, P.O. Box 39, Sisters, OR  97759 or drop it off at City Hall, 520 E. Cascade.
