Economic Development Manager

The City’s Economic Development Manager, Mac Hay, is an independent contractor of the City of Sisters.  The position is responsible to:

• Coordinate the business retention/expansion program including contact with business owners and managers, follow-up phone calls, client visits, correspondence, information requests, research, and proposals.
• Facilitate between client, the City of Sisters and other economic development entities including EDCO as required to respond to the needs of prospective business clients from beginning to end.
• Assemble committees, taskforces, and workgroups as needed comprised of key leaders from various sectors for both business development and strategic projects that will assist key economic development efforts.
• Attend, when necessary, local, regional, state or national meetings on behalf of the City of Sisters or Sisters community.
• Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with other local, regional and state business development organizations.
• Develop and maintain client management computer database for all Sisters primary employers, leads and pending project for companies specifically interested in Sisters.
• Working with EDCO, update annually and oversee production of publications including the Sisters Community Profile, and other marketing or informational printed materials pertinent to the program.
• Coordinate with the Sisters City Manager to develop a budget requests for economic development programs and activities when needed.
• Identify financing options available for economic development projects, including local, state and federal resources.
• Generate progress reports for Sisters City Council on a monthly basis, and a final annual report.
• Complete special projects or tasks as assigned by the Sisters City Manager with input by the Sisters City Council.
