City Manager's Department
“To oversee, coordinate and direct the departments of the City according to the goals, policies, objectives and directives of the City Council and the service needs of the municipal corporation.”

The City Manager is responsible for the overall administration of the City including implementation of City Council policies and goals, enforcement of ordinances, supervision over department directors, and employees, preparation and implementation of the annual budget and general management of the City’s operations. The City Manager works closely with the Mayor and City Council on major issues affecting the community. The City Manager provides Council with information on future operational needs, policy matters and regulatory requirements. With the assistance of the Management Team, the City Manager coordinates the work of the city’s three departments and major city projects.

The department also includes the City Recorder, who schedules items for the City Council meeting agendas, functions as the City’s Election Officer, and provides appropriate recording, retention and maintenance of official records of the City. The City Recorder also provides administrative support to the City Manager, Mayor and City Council.
